I'm Gemma, a Lancashire based wedding, family and events photographer. I've lived in Preston all of my life and whilst it's alright 'up north' I am very happy to travel wherever my work takes me - just don't make me go too long without a good brew.
I’m in my late 20’s….30 to be exact. I have a wonderful other half, Mark, and I’m Mum to my sassy 3yr old, Madison. We also have a semi-feral, supposedly domesticated cat George, who uses us more as a 5 star hotel.
When I’m not behind my camera, I’m usually behind my laptop or a very large cup of coffee (toddler mum - ‘nough said). Outside of work I love rearranging my furniture, daydreaming about my next decorating project and how I’m going to pitch it to my other half. (Next time, I’m going all in with a PowerPoint).
My happy places are my at home studio, coffee shops and all your stunning weddings. My favourite time of year is Eurovision - it should be a national holiday and a religion. If I was a Barbie, she would be dressed in neutrals, with big hair and come with a camera, a macbook and good nude lippy. Oh, and a caramel latte in a takeout cup...
Did I mention I drink coffee?

My Story...
I graduated from UCLan with a degree in Photography with honours in 2014 and before that I had already studied the subject for 2 years at A-Level in college. Keen to put all of that studying into practice, I began freelancing and then in 2018 I finally made the decision to put down roots and set up as Gemma Marie Photography and build a studio on my very doorstep - I haven't looked back since!
Where am I based?
My gorgeous and spacious home studio is based in Penwortham, Preston. When you're here you can expect a really relaxed environment in a professional setting with all the tea's and coffee's until your hearts content. Whether you're in front of the camera or a spectator, I'll make sure you have an experience to write home about. Be part of the action doing silly faces behind the camera or put your feet up whilst I capture those precious memories.
Studio setting not suitable for you? I can come to you and provide the service in your own home or at an agreed location. Just ask me for more details.
